best tarot cards for career

We spend a lot of time at work. So, it’s important to enjoy your career, because you’ll be spending more time there than anywhere else. Want to know the best tarot cards for careers to get in a reading? Check out my selections below. As well as the worst tarot cards you’ll see.

Major Arcana

Let’s start with the Major Arcana first.  These usually indicate sweeping changes in your career.  Major Arcana cards are a big deal to get in a reading.

The Magician

I love seeing this card in a spread.  This is about taking control of your destiny. It’s a manifesting card, about using all the tools in your tool kit to get what you want.

The Chariot

This card is about upward mobility, winning the so-called rat race. It means you have a lot of forward momentum at the moment, so seize that energy and run with it. Literally. The road is clear of obstacles, so start your engines.

Minor Arcana

Minor Arcana cards are about everyday living. Just as a warning, you will see a lot of pentacles, because they are associated with the physical world, which includes things like money and finance.

Ace of Pentacles

So, this card symbolizes planting a seed for the future. It’s an entrepreneur and side gig sort of card. I usually see it in a spread when someone is making some changes and plans. It indicates a small shift now, with larger results down the line.

Two of Wands

This card has a heavy manifesting vibe. It’s about taking control of your future. In a career reading, it means that you are your own boss. Either you work for yourself or you have a lot of input and control at your workplace.

Two of Pentacles

This card is about adulting and balancing those priorities. It could be different tasks at work, or your home life and work. Whatever the case, you’ve got this. In the upright position, you are able to keep all your balls up in the air.

Three of Wands

This card is about planning, taking advantage of opportunities. It’s an upwardly mobile card like The Chariot. There’s also an aura of manifesting around this card.

Three of Pentacles

This is a teamwork card. It doesn’t necessarily indicate success at work, but it speaks to having a good environment at your job, which can make a huge difference. Being there is actually fun and productive.

Six of Wands

The Six of Wands shows up in a reading when you are earning praise from your boss and co-workers. Sometimes this can indicate a raise. Whatever the case, you are getting some positive feedback.

Eight of Pentacles

This card is about taking pride in your work. It’s about craftsmanship, enjoying the time and energy you put in to a project. This makes me think of that old adage: if you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life.

Nine of Pentacles

I love, love, love his card, particularly when it shows up in a reading for a woman.  She’s a strong independent figure with a room of her own. Since I use tarot cards in my magical workings, I keep this one on my money altar. It’s my favorite card for attracting money and business opportunities.

The Worst Cards in a Career Reading

Ugh. These are the awful ones you never want to see.

Five of Wands

Do you work with sharks? People who are always fighting and back-biting? The Five of Wands is about struggling with others, jockeying for position.

Seven of Pentacles

Have you ever worked at a job where the pay wasn’t nearly enough? Yeah, me too. That feeling is this card in a nutshell. You also might feel unappreciated at work, as if no one cares about the time and effort you put into your job. It’s the opposite of the Six of Wands.

Ten of Wands

The Ten of Wands means you are overburdened. Maybe you are doing the work of two or three people. Or maybe you feel like you are spinning your wheels, doing busy work.
