This is my first Witches Roots box. Although, I’ve watched unboxing videos on YouTube before. And I’m sooo glad I bought it. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a witchy themed subscription box from the Witches Moon. Basically, this box is a way to build your herb collection. Every month, they send you a new herb to work with, along with some other amazing items. I am working on building up a more robust apothecary. Up until this point, I’ve mostly been using kitchen herbs and spices in my spellcraft. I’m not much of a green witch.
And, no, this isn’t a sponsored post. I bought the box with my own money.
Okay, this is totally a witchy self care box. It smells amazing. Everything inside is packaged so thoughtfully and within moments of opening it, I could just feel my vibrations raising through the roof. Also, this is exactly the box I needed for my full moon ritual this Friday. So I absolutely love the synchronicity. Sometimes the universe is looking out for you.
The Witches Roots Box
Here’s a list of what’s included in the box.
Theme: Ritual Potency
Herb of the Month: Echinacea. It’s excellent for intention setting. It’s also good for cleansing, or getting rid of negativity.
Grimoire Artwork: They also include stunning herbal artwork for your book of shadows with all the information about the herb in question.
Spell Candle: This beeswax spell candle was designed to induce movement, or the ability to let go of something that no longer serves you.
Serenity Aura Spray: This spray is designed to soothe your energy and calm you down. It’s made with lavender, ginger, ylang ylang, and white tea. As a side note, words cannot describe how good this smells. Seriously.
Amazonite Bracelet: Amazonite is a beautiful crystal and can be used for setting your intentions.
Incense: They also included a palo santo stick and palo santo incense. These are also right up my alley. It’s my favorite way to smoke cleanse a space.
Spell Charm: This charm is about releasing and cleansing.
How I will use the items
As I mentioned above, I’m going to be doing a release ritual on the full moon. I am going to roll my spell candle in echinacea and cut and clear oil. And then I’m going to write a petition about releasing anger, which I will burn. I’m also going to hold on to the spell token while I set my intention and then keep it with me as a talisman until the spell is complete.
I’ve created a morning ritual for myself. I light some incense and a candle and practice mindfulness while I drink a cup of coffee in the morning. And then I pull an oracle or a tarot card for myself. This is incredibly calming. So, I’m incorporating the palo santo stick and palo santo incense into this routine. And I have also been spritzing myself with their Serenity aura spray. And yes, it makes me feel relaxed and calm.
I’m going to wear the Amazonite bracelet while I set my intentions with the new moon, since it has manifestation properties. I will also be using the echinacea to sprinkle on my manifestation journal.
And I’ll be placing the gorgeous artwork in my grimoire.
So, I’m going to use every single item in this box. Again, it felt like a gift from the universe. It’s exactly what I needed, when I needed it. Thank you, Artemis. I know she had a hand in it. This really felt like a self care session with a little aromatherapy thrown in. The Serenity spray is phenomenal. It’s my favorite item in the box. How good was it? I liked it so much, I ordered the Come to Me and Luna sprays available in their online shop. They also have some ritual oils, I’m dying to get my hands on. And I plan on continuing with this subscription. I can’t wait to see what they do for Samhain.
The cost of the subscription is $29, including shipping. And when you order the box, you will start receiving them the next month. So, if you order it in August, like I did, you receive it in September. And it keeps renewing unless you cancel it.
I was so impressed with this box, I ordered The Witches Bounty for Samhain as a little witchy present for myself. Side note: they also have a spell box, called The Witches Moon that contains everything you need for an entire ritual. Unfortunately, this one was sold out for October. I’m a little bummed about that.
If you are interested, check out The Witches Roots on Cratejoy. Or you can order directly through their site. And if you want to order any of the items separately, you can check out their Moon Marketplace section. However, they will be pricier than if you purchased a subscription.
Have you ever ordered one of these boxes? Tell me in the comments.
