witchy netflix shows

Looking for some witchy movies on Netflix?  I get it. You want to relax, have a quiet night in and stream some witchy goodness. Well, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered.

Television Shows

Below is a list of witchy television shows on Netflix and other streaming providers.

Charmed (original series)

This show is a classic, three sister witches who fall in love with demons, angels, ghosts, you name it. They learn to use their powers and bond as sisters. What’s not to love? Okay, so maybe the special effects are downright awful, but this show has heart. You can stream all seasons on Netflix.

Charmed (new series)

I loved the original, so I had to give this a go. I fell in love with the new cast during the first episode. There is a lot more diversity, modern problems, and the sisterhood remains strong. I love seeing their powers grow. Oh, and they have a charming Englishman as their whitelighter. Love it. The first season is available to stream on Netflix.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Okay, so there are only a couple of witches in this show, but Buffy has a strong witchy vibe. Look out for vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures. Willow, the witch, is my favorite character. She becomes extremely powerful, terrifyingly so. However, Buffy is on Hulu, not Netflix. Still, I recommend you check it out. You can even get a free month of Hulu to try it out.

This is a darker show, with a more grown up Sabrina. Do you remember the old 90s show with a teenage Sabrina who got into hijinks with her talking cat? Yeah, this is way different. Edgier. But I still recommend it.

Vampire Diaries

This is another supernatural ensemble like Buffy. Bonnie is the witch on this show and she is amazing. Just watching her float those feathers! #witchgoals. Little tip from me to you, come for Bonnie but stay for Klaus, a sexy British vampire/werewolf hybrid. He has his own show, The Originals, which also streams on Netflix. There are New Orleans witches in The Originals and some interesting Voodoo magic.

The Magicians

This series is like the Harry Potter series had a baby with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe books. That will make sense once you start watching it. While they are called magicians, they are actually witches and wizards and the series takes place at a magical university. It’s a funny, adult Harry Potter.

Honorable Mentions

Okay, so witches don’t figure prominently in Supernatural. They are hunters who go after supernatural baddies. But, the occasional witch pops up. Sam and Dean are nice to look at and they have major boy drama with man tears.

Lost Girl is about faeries and faery magic, although there aren’t any actual witches on the show. I love the female-led cast. And I defy you not to fall a little bit in love with Kenzi, a human who is along for the ride.

Wynonna Earp  is a weird mix of western and paranormal, and yet it somehow works. Wynonna hunts down revenants or demons. The occasional witch makes an appearance. And Doc Holiday is worth the price of admission.

A Discovery of Witches is on Amazon, not Netflix but I highly recommend it.  Once again, a new witch is coming into her powers and learning how to use them. There’s also a forbidden romance between a witch and a vampire that burns up the screen.

Witchy Movies on Netflix

Here is a list of movies on Netflix and other streaming services.

Beautiful Creatures

I love this film! It’s set in the South and witches have a choice to either become light or dark. By, the way, it’s based on a book series.

Stardust has some really bad witches in it. Along with some mortals and actual star. I love it. You won’t be disappointed.

Practical Magic

This is one of my all-time favorite witchy movies. Two witchy sisters, a malevolent ex-boyfriend ghost, and midnight margaritas. I love it. Unfortunately, Practical Magic isn’t available on Netflix, but you can stream it on Amazon.

The Craft

This is another older movie, but I still love it. This movie is about high school witchcraft and what can go wrong with a love spell.  The Craft isn’t available on Netflix, but you can stream it on Amazon.

Did I miss any witchy movies on Netflix? Or television shows? Tell me in the comments.
